The Blitz: Britain on Fire for C5 retells the horror of the May Blitz of Liverpool in 1941, when the Luftwaffe returned to the skies of the city night after night to drop tons of explosives and incendiary bombs. The series looks at the stories of some of the city’s inhabitants over this period and our job was to provide some local geography connecting the Liverpool streets to these people. By piecing together original maps from the late 30’s we were able to create a three dimensional environment where we could pin individuals to the streets whilst in the skies above we could build squadrons of stylised bombers, showing how the threat was never far away.
