Discovering a hidden book collection – Layton’s Library

We’ve produced a short taster film and rebuilt the website to introduce people to the treasures collected by Thomas Layton, a Brentford Victorian collector of archeology, ethnography, books & prints. Layton left his collection for the enjoyment and education of the people of Brentford & Hounslow, and this film highlights parts of the book collection and members of the Trust inform us about the particulars which make the collection so special. The Last days of…

History is peppered with men and women who changed the world, only to become more controversial in death than they were in life. ʻThe Last Days of…ʼ examines six giants of history who suffered bloody and brutal deaths, retelling their stories, which are packed with unexpected twists and turns. TDD designed the titlecards for each episode compositing footage from the drama with textures, ink-splashes and colour, emphasising the dramatic events of their death.
