In a new programme ‘Al Jazeera Investigates’ examine ‘modern slavery’ in the UK. To accompany the programme we also produced an online explainer which attempts to shed some light on the whole process of getting into Britain illegally and the grim prospects that await some migrants. In a new investigation by the Al Jazeera Investigates team, Liam Collins, a retired Great British Athlete, spent six months undercover investigating the murky world of performance-enhancing drugs – what athletes refer to as “the dark side”. The motion graphics formed an integral part of the production enabling the team to feature sports action which was painted by hand and also ‘sporting trading cards’ were created to highlight the alleged athletes named in the film. An ITN production for Channel 5. We created a CGI Cold War-like tunnel setting which the camera travelled down onward to the bunker’s large air-tight doors where the title was framed.
