The Riviera Maya Gang: Cash, Crime, Killing

This one takes some beating, in terms of the audacity of the scam.  A large scale plan to skim the credit card details from tourists by planting the skimmers inside the ATM’s and then supplying the machines to tourist hotels and banks. This investigation led by Will Jordan from the OCCRP (Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) tells the tale, and our motion graphics (paying homage to Grand Theft Auto, perhaps) lends some interesting styling and animation to the mix.
