A collaboration with Inspired films – who were commissioned by global healthcare charity Marie Stopes International to create a series of educational animation resources for their social workers in 38 countries. Translated into multiple languages, these short animations are designed to educate communities about fertility and various forms of contraception available, often directed at sub-literate audiences.

The Riviera Maya Gang: Cash, Crime, Killing

This one takes some beating, in terms of the audacity of the scam.  A large scale plan to skim the credit card details from tourists by planting the skimmers inside the ATM’s and then supplying the machines to tourist hotels and banks. This investigation led by Will Jordan from the OCCRP (Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) tells the tale, and our motion graphics (paying homage to Grand Theft Auto, perhaps) lends some interesting styling and animation to the mix. Lots of #motiongraphics in this documentary where Dispatches reveals how thousands of stolen & therefore unsafe medicines were given to NHS patients being treated for illnesses like prostate cancer, schizophrenia and epilepsy. The Blitz: Britain on Fire

The Blitz: Britain on Fire for C5 retells the horror of the May Blitz of Liverpool in 1941, when the Luftwaffe returned to the skies of the city night after night to drop tons of explosives and incendiary bombs. The series looks at the stories of some of the city’s inhabitants over this period and our job was to provide some local geography connecting the Liverpool streets to these people. By piecing together original maps from the late 30’s we were able to create a three dimensional environment where we could pin individuals to the streets whilst in the skies

After a three-year sting, Medioto worked with Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit to help reveal how Australia’s right wing, ‘One Nation’ party goes in search of funding from the US gun lobby in return for helping relax Australian strict gun laws. Secret filming also unveils the tricks & techniques, the National Rifle Association uses to handles public opinion and smear the victims after deadly gun attacks. Dispatches – Britain’s Knife Crisis

Subtitled, ‘Young, Armed & Dangerous’, this programme followed former MET Comissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe as he investigated the alarming rise in knife crime. Maya applied some interesting camera angles to project the real statistics in the sky above an urban landscape whilst ink splashes aggressively eat into the concrete buildings. The Secret Lives of Slim People

We were asked to produce an animated title and bumpers for Channel 4’s series “The Secret Lives of Slim People.” Some people stay slim despite never dieting or exercising. This ITN production follows two slim people over five days, unpicking their every move and morsel to find out what determines their size. GFX designed and animated by Andrew Whittle under the direction of Paul Trainor and Toni Marshall.
