Cricket’s Match Fixers – The Munawar Files

Al Jazeera’s investigators have obtained telephone recordings that show Aneel Munawar ringing in details of fixes in 15 international matches to a notorious Indian bookmaker often featuring big named players from England, Australia & Pakistan. Cricket’s Match Fixers

Over 18 months of investigations, Medioto worked with Aljazeera’s Investigative Unit and helped reveal how criminal gangs bribe players and officials to fix matches and parts of matches – and make millions from betting on guaranteed outcomes. The initial inspiration for the designs came from Bollywood posters and obviously some of the title text echo the old fashioned scoreboards on the cricket ground. We helped the Washington based Al Jazeera Investigations team uncover the murky world of selling surveillance equipment, often to anyone willing to pay, regardless of the government, end user or final usage. Titles, subtitles, as well as all the visual effects and explainer graphic sequences are spread over 47 mins which as not an easy feat considering that there’s barely a minute free of overlays and VFX. The Dark Side – Secrets of the Sports Dopers – An AlJazeera Investigation

In a new investigation by the Al Jazeera Investigates team, Liam Collins, a retired Great British Athlete, spent six months undercover investigating the murky world of performance-enhancing drugs – what athletes refer to as “the dark side”. The motion graphics formed an integral part of the production enabling the team to feature sports action which was painted by hand and also ‘sporting trading cards’ were created to highlight the alleged athletes named in the film.
