This ITN production follows two slim people over five days, unpicking their every move and morsel to find out what determines their size. We helped the Washington based Al Jazeera Investigations team uncover the murky world of selling surveillance equipment, often to anyone willing to pay, regardless of the government, end user or final usage. Titles, subtitles, as well as all the visual effects and explainer graphic sequences are spread over 47 mins which as not an easy feat considering that there’s barely a minute free of overlays and VFX. We thought we would create a series of silhouetted figures inhabiting a diverse landscape which would attempt to suggest that the programmes were concentrating on the normally faceless figures which the news often bypasses or certainly has less time for. Denial: In Defence of Truth
To mark the release of the film “Denial”, Mishcon de Reya wanted to look at how the David Irving V. Deborah Lipstadt trial that took place in 2000 has relevance today. Working with Mishcon de Reya and Alex Krasodomski-Jones of Demos, Quite Frankly were commissioned to make a short film exploring truth, post-truth and denial in 2017. We worked with the director Steve Grandison to illustrate the near impossibility of a black British infant growing up and becoming our Prime Minister via some quite shocking statistics blocking any advancement.
